Welcome to the Herp Helpdesk  Our mission is to help you better.
First, if you are new to this terminology then let me tell you what herps are. No, they are not cold sores that you get on your mouth or groin areas. Herp is shortened version for the word herpetology. This is what herpetology is by definition: (Herpetology (from Greek: ἑρπετόν, "creeping animal" and λόγος, logos, "knowledge") is the branch of zoology concerned with the study of reptiles and amphibians. Many biologists use the term "herp" or "herptiles" for all reptiles and amphibians.
Herpetology is concerned with poikilothermic, or cold-blooded, groups of animals. "Herps" include salamanders, frogs, toads, an odd group of amphibians called caecilians, snakes, lizards, turtles, tuataras and crocodilians.) (Thank you, Wikipedia) Now that we are all on the same page... The Herp Helpdesk is here to help fellow herp lovers world wide to find the right herp they are looking for. Since we are based in the states, we have only provided local information for the U.S. and Canada. Shipping across boarders can be tuff and expensive. We aim to help you find the right price, the right supplies for your herp, and the right care information for them.  The links to the left have most of the answers that you are looking for.
It doesn't matter if you are a breeder or a comsumer we are all looking for the lowest prices and the answers to suit our herps needs. Here at the Herp Helpdesk we believe that it is time to start thinking outside of the box! It is time that we start thinking as a community and operate together as a full functioning network of herpetoculturist. We are all neighbors to each other in this cause whether we live in the next house over, or the next state over. As a community we can all work together to better each others needs.
